Great Sound
Pros: Deep bass, ability to view song titles and artist names on the TV monitor, rear speakers have no wire connected to the receiver, which prevents those nasty wires from running across the living room floor. The wireless rear power box will automatically deactivate the rear speakers when you turn the main system off, which prevents you from having to turn them on/off (you can leave them in the on position). Great HTIB for the money
The sc-pt960 is a great system and sounds great also. The manual is vague and it took me about 3 days or so thru trial an error to get it tweaked to my liking. A few reviews have said the rear speakers are weak, but you can adjust the speakers to fit your taste. Not all Tv shows will put out great surround sound, it depends on how they were originally recorded. If your into movies and music the sound is great. The sub woofer is plenty loud for me. Great sound for a great price
We got this system at the same time as we upgraded to a 46" Samsung LCD. This system replaced a 20-year-old system with multiple components and humongous speakers. The sound in nice and clean, and the upconversion DVD player makes the picture very high quality. (My older daughter uses the docking station for her iPod.)A great buy. Make sure you get an HDMI cable for linking the DVD to your TV, and a digital optical cable for putting your broadcast TV sound through the sound system. .... Read more
