Excellent sound but some video issues
This system has a very good sound. However the dvd player has problems. There is some issue when used with hdmi connectiont. Some kind of shadow or distortion appears on black portion of the picture. This shadow or distortation is so bad that I had to use component cable. Picture qualit is good using component cable. I couldn't find solution to this problem online. Bware
Bought this system based on C-Net reviews and some others.
Excellent sounding system.
DVD player was DOA.
Amazon wanted this huge system uninstalled, repackaged and returned to them for resolution. Not feasible. They suggested I contact Onkyo for exchange of bad DVD player.
Onkyo showed no care or interest in the problem or its resolution.
I had to pay, again, to have the DVD player repaired, under Onkyo's warranty.

Solid Music System
I have been using this music system for last couple of months and i really liked its durability and quality, really comparable with expensive Boss. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to buy other than Boss.

1. 5 Disc DVD player plays most of the format except some VCDs which used to play in my old player.
2. 7 Speakers are pretty good in quality and clarity. it would have been much better if the size is bit smaller.

Great Packing-simple to install-BUT!!!!
The sound is beyond GREAT!!!!-Simple to install-Works great with HD TV-But the cables to some of the speakers are to short. The family room the system was installed is very small (17X14). I had to go out and purchase new cable(wiring)to 4 of the speakers. If the speaker cable is being installed on top of base boards the multi colored factory wiring doesn't work. The factory speaker cable could have both ends colored coded and the rest a solid color. .... Read more
