The HT-S4100 is the perfect platform for integrating virtually any iPod for audio playback. When connected to the RI Dock, you can control your iPod with the system’s remote control. CinemaFILTER restores the correct tonal balance for a movie soundtrack playing in the smaller confines of your Home Theater. CinemaFILTER can be used with DTS and Dolby listening modes, and is easily activated from your remote control. Built around a component taken directly from Onkyo’s A/V receiver line-up, this package gives you unsurpassed levels of control, power and reliability. The gloss finish of the accompanying speakers gives it a visual appeal that matches the undeniable quality of the HT-S4100’s A/V performance. The receiver’s rear panel is designed so that you can connect it easily to your A/V components and speakers. Component video inputs/output are conveniently located on the top left of the rear panel along with the digital inputs for Dolby and DTS surround signals. 5.1-multichannel inputs can connect to compatible DVD and Blu-ray Disc players to receive audio output from high-definition discs. Onkyo’s High Current Power Supply (H.C.P.S.) concept ensures that you will always have the power to respond to the wide dynamics of surround sound. Onkyo’s Optimum Gain Volume Circuitry adjusts the gain so that less than half the standard amount of attenuation is necessary. Excellent system
I bought this system locally, and am very pleased. Sound quality is excellent and all the features I want. Easy to set up. Color coded wires and very clear directions. I had to attach the optical input to the second optical input, but I expected that. Apparently, the optical 1 input switched to optical 2 when it found no input...causing a 'hiccup' in the sound. Once I changed the plug, no worries. I reconmend this system. Maybe a 'stereo' expert would want more, but it is fine for a guy w .... Read more

Please customer
I was at first sceptical buying this product. However, after the recc from my friend who bought the 700 (a less powerful model) I decide to buy.
First Amazon had the best price. Additionally, I linked the system with my exisisting DVD/CD (AV) unit, my vcr, my flat screen (1080) TV, etc... The system rocks, the bass is suprisingly powerful and consistently great surround system.

Good system for the price
Hello everyone,
I have had my system for about a few weeks now, and feel pretty good about it. It makes a big difference compared to the LG 50" TV plasma speakers. The only thing I don't like about it is the cheep speaker wires it comes with. I suppose I will upgrade to better wires later. It also does a clicking sound from the relay when the broadcast switches from Dolby to regular sound on commercials and back again while watching TV. Not a big deal.

I recently bought this system a week ago for my parents christmas gift. I had a kenwood be for I got this one. Then kenwood was nice but it only had one optical port on the back. This one has two which is nice and the sub on the kenwood would distort while listening to movies and just music. This sub has not distorted and it is a 100 watts more then the other one. I like that the speakers are bigger and the ipod dock is nice but the remote will not work cause I have an iphone. Overall this is a .... Read more
