Not a good choice
Returned the unit. Receiver was non-functioning. The speakers, however were exceptional (when using our old receiver). Unfortunately, the instructions for setup were a disaster as well. Anytime you are faced with buttons on both sides of the remote, you know you are in for disaster. Denon has a solid reputation, but they lost it with this version. Never again. .... Read more

Great Sound
Hi, we bought this surround sound system after shopping around for a few days.

It has 2 HDMI inputs, but the sound is not received through these so you'll need separate digital sound cables.

After getting it setup, took about 4 hours. The sound is amazing! The surround is fabulous and the whole thing just creates a great theater experience. I had never setup up a receiver and speakers before so probably took me a bit longer than an experienced person.

Denon HT488BA -a real performer
I originally was going to buy a different Denon system but decided on this one with the Boston Acoustics speakers. It arrived on schedule and took me a couple days to read through the manual (just do it) and play with the various settings before the setup was close to what I wanted. A few minor tweeks after that and this thing rocks. I watched the Super Bowl in HiDef surround and was glad I didn't spend the money for the tickets. It was like being there.
