Samsung Home Theater Systems – Only the Best Will Last
If you have an “electronically challenged” predisposition to assembling a home entertainment system, your spare time need not go into researching the amps and volts that match one audio input to a video system best. Just browsing through an online Samsung home theater system brochure may be enough for you to have the entertainment center to impress the friends and in-laws the next time they’re around.
Samsung has a wide range of home theater system offerings, some models of which are very affordable and within the reach of average consumers. Some of these models are just within the $400 range but just the same deliver a performance sufficient enough for those who would already be happy some extra audio input.
Consider the Samsung HT-TZ512. It is described as an all-in-one home theater alternative featuring five-disc DVD/CD changer, an iPod dock, and wireless rear speakers. You will be impressed with its strong digital media playback capability on various formats such as DivX, MP3, WMA, WMV, and JPEG. It boasts of a 5.1 surround-sound system that works well with both music and movies. In addition to the DVD and CD playback, the TZ512T features an FM radio tuner. It is XM-ready as well; that by adding an XM Mini-Tuner antenna and having an XM subscription, you can receive satellite radio broadcasts.
You can have an upscaled video of up to 1080-pixel resolution when the HT-TZ512T is linked to an HDTV via HDMI. Some consumers, however, find no reason to bother with this up-scaling as the built-in HDTV video upscale capability in this Samsung home theater system is more than enough for the average television viewer.

Panasonic SC-PT760 Home Theater System Review
For the price paid, you get quite a nice package with the Panasonic SC-PT760 home theater system. This model consists of a central unit (that is comprised of a 5-disc changer and amplifier), a wireless transmitter (which transmits audio signals), 5 surround speakers and a sub-woofer. The iPod dock is located in the central/DVD player unit (on the front) where it can be conveniently accessed.
Accessing the controls for the Panasonic SC-PT760 home theater system is also very convenient. The designers of this system spaced out the controls (to access the transport controls, the disc loading trays, sub-woofer, and input selector) across the top-front ledge of the DVD player. The SC-PT760 has a five-disc changer can play DVD movies, audio CDs, and video CDs. It will play MP3 music files as well as display JPEG’s from DVD-RAM, DVD-R/RW, and CD-R.
The remote control that comes with the SC-PT760 lets you adjust the volume levels for each speaker and the sub-woofer. There is also an EQ control that lets you select between flat, clear, heavy and soft settings. One of my favorite features on this model is the Whisper-mode option that optimizes the sound effects for late night listening. All the speakers are connected with bare wire springs.
The sub-woofer that comes with the Panasonic SC-PT760 home theater system is Kelton-designed. It is made of a mid-density fiberboard with a molded plastic (black) front baffle. It is 7.2 inches tall by 14.05 inches wide by 12.3 inches deep in dimension and weighs in just 10.5 pounds. All in all, this is a very competent home theater system where I would have no qualms recommending it to anyone who is looking for one.
